Ingredients
- 1 cup dried yellow peas, soaked overnight
- 2 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Drain the soaked yellow peas and pressure cook with salt until soft. Drain any excess water and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cooked yellow peas, mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into round patties.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and shallow fry the patties until golden brown on both sides.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
