Ingredients
- 2 cups yellow peas, soaked overnight
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 12 ready-made samosa pastry sheets
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Boil the soaked yellow peas until tender, then drain and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add the boiled yellow peas to the mixture and cook for a few minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Take a samosa pastry sheet, fold it into a cone shape, and stuff it with the prepared yellow pea mixture. Seal the edges with a flour-water paste.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the stuffed pastries until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
