Ingredients
- 1 cup dried anchovies
- 5 shallots, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 5 red chilies, chopped
- 2 tablespoons tamarind paste
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions
- Rinse the dried anchovies and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the dried anchovies and fry until they turn golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add more oil if needed and sauté the shallots, garlic, and red chilies until fragrant.
- Add the tamarind paste, sugar, and salt. Stir well.
- Return the fried anchovies to the pan and mix until well combined.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
