Spicy Axone Chicken
Spicy Axone Chicken is a traditional Naga dish that combines the pungent flavors of fermented soybeans with tender chicken pieces, creating a spicy and aromatic delicacy.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 3 tbsp axone (fermented soybean)
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3-4 green chilies, slit
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken pieces with axone, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions, green chilies, ginger, and garlic until golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
- Pour in the water and simmer for another 10-15 minutes until the chicken is tender and the flavors are well blended.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
