Ingredients
- 500g beef brisket, sliced
- 300g hand-pulled noodles
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 3 slices of ginger
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
- 2 tbsp chili bean paste
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cooking wine
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt, to taste
- 6 cups beef broth
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- In a pot, heat some oil and sauté the green onions, ginger, garlic, star anise, cinnamon stick, and Sichuan peppercorns until fragrant.
- Add the beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in the chili bean paste, soy sauce, cooking wine, and sugar.
- Pour in the beef broth and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours until the beef is tender.
- Cook the hand-pulled noodles according to package instructions.
