Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed

  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, grated ginger, cumin seeds, red chili powder, garam masala, chopped coriander leaves, cornflour, and salt. Mix well to form a uniform mixture.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into round tikkis or patties.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat for frying.
  4. Carefully place the tikkis in the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  5. Once done, remove the tikkis from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve the spicy Bihari aloo tikkis hot with green chutney or tamarind chutney.
