Spicy Brazilian BBQ Ribs (Costillas a la Barbacoa Brasileña Picantes)

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork ribs
  • 1 cup Brazilian-style barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, Chinese five-spice powder, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, orange juice, and cilantro to make the marinade.
  3. Place the ribs in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the ribs. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the ribs. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  4. Remove the ribs from the marinade and grill for 1-1.5 hours, turning occasionally, until the ribs are tender and charred in spots.
  5. Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
