Spicy Brazilian BBQ Ribs (Costillas a la Barbacoa Brasileña Picantes)
Costillas a la Barbacoa Brasileña Picantes, or Spicy Brazilian BBQ Ribs, are a delicious fusion of Latin American and Chinese flavors. These ribs are marinated in a spicy Brazilian-style barbecue sauce and then grilled to perfection, resulting in tender, flavorful ribs with a kick of heat.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork ribs
- 1 cup Brazilian-style barbecue sauce
- 2 tbsp Chinese five-spice powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, Chinese five-spice powder, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, orange juice, and cilantro to make the marinade.
- Place the ribs in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the ribs. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the ribs. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Remove the ribs from the marinade and grill for 1-1.5 hours, turning occasionally, until the ribs are tender and charred in spots.
- Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
