Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 3-4 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 cup tomato puree
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions are golden brown.
- Stir in turmeric, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Pour in the white vinegar and tomato puree. Season with salt and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
