Ingredients
- 8 pieces of dried tofu skin
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Sichuan peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons doubanjiang (broad bean paste with chili)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Soak the dried tofu skin in hot water for 10 minutes, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat, then add the garlic and Sichuan peppercorns. Stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the doubanjiang and stir-fry for another minute.
- Stir in the soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine, and sugar.
- Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer.
- Add the tofu skin pieces and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
