Ingredients
- 2 cups gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and salt.
- Add water gradually and knead the mixture into a stiff dough.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Using a sev maker or a chakli press, press the dough into the hot oil in a circular motion to form noodles.
- Fry the noodles until they turn golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Let them cool and store in an airtight container.
