湖南辣牛肉 (Spicy Hunan Beef) is a classic Chinese Islamic Cuisine dish known for its bold flavors and spicy kick. This dish features tender beef slices stir-fried with a medley of aromatic spices and fiery chili peppers, creating a mouthwatering and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 5-6 dried red chili peppers
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, julienned
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Marinade:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the beef slices with the marinade ingredients. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the dried red chili peppers and stir-fry for 30 seconds to release the aroma.
- Add the marinated beef slices and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in the wok. Add the garlic, ginger, and green onions, and stir-fry for 1 minute.
- Return the beef to the wok and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until everything is well combined and the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Transfer the spicy Hunan beef to a serving dish and serve hot with steamed rice.
