Spicy Lamb Curry (peshawari Mutton Korma)
Spicy Lamb Curry, also known as Peshawari Mutton Korma, is a traditional Pakistani dish that is rich in flavor and spices. This aromatic curry is a perfect blend of tender lamb and a variety of spices, creating a mouthwatering dish that is sure to impress.
Ingredients
- 1 kg lamb, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the lamb pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Stir in the tomato puree, yogurt, and all the spices. Mix well.
- Cover the pot and let the curry simmer on low heat for about 1 hour, or until the lamb is tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
