Spicy Lamb Curry (peshawari Mutton Korma)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg lamb, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Add the lamb pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree, yogurt, and all the spices. Mix well.
  5. Cover the pot and let the curry simmer on low heat for about 1 hour, or until the lamb is tender.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
