Ingredients
- 3 lbs beef, cut into chunks
- 1 cup cassareep (a special sauce made from cassava)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6 cloves
- 6 allspice berries
- 1 hot pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- Salt to taste

Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the beef, cassareep, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, hot pepper, onion, garlic, brown sugar, and salt.
- Add enough water to cover the ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 2 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Stir occasionally and add more water if needed to keep the stew moist.
- Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.
