Spicy Mutton Chukka
Spicy Mutton Chukka is a traditional South Indian dish that is bursting with flavor and spice. This dry mutton dish is perfect for spice lovers and is best enjoyed with steamed rice or roti.
Ingredients
- 500g mutton, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 4-5 dry red chilies
- Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and dry red chilies. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add chopped onions and curry leaves. Cook until onions turn golden brown.
- Now, add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the mutton pieces, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook until the mutton is browned.
- Next, add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and the oil separates from the masala.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
