Spicy Naga Style Chicken Curry

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 4-5 green chilies, slit
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 5-6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  2. Add the grated ginger and minced garlic, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Now, add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree, green chilies, and all the spices. Mix well.
  5. Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and the curry has thickened.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
