Spicy Pepper Chicken

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, and curry leaves. Sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
  4. Now, add the chicken pieces and cook until they turn white.
  5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
  7. Add black pepper powder and coconut milk. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the gravy thickens.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
