Spicy Puffed Rice (nargis Mandakki)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups puffed rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup roasted peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped green chilies and onions. Saute until the onions turn translucent.
  2. Add the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes turn soft.
  3. Now, add the puffed rice and roasted peanuts. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
