Spicy Salvadoran Fish Tacos (Tacos de Pescado Salvadoreños Picantes)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb white fish fillets, such as tilapia or cod
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Sliced radishes, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Rub the spice mixture onto both sides of the fish fillets.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the fish fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork.
  3. While the fish is cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or in the oven.
  4. In a bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, chopped cilantro, mayonnaise, hot sauce, and lime juice to make the slaw.
  5. To assemble the tacos, place a spoonful of the slaw on each tortilla, top with a piece of fish, and garnish with sliced radishes.
