Spicy Sel Roti (तातेको सेल रोटी)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rice flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped green chilies
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • Oil for deep-frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, sugar, baking powder, cumin seeds, green chilies, turmeric powder, and chopped onions.
  2. Add water gradually and mix well to form a thick batter. The batter should be of dropping consistency.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan for deep-frying.
  4. Scoop a spoonful of the batter and carefully drop it into the hot oil to form a round shape. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the fried sel roti from the oil and place it on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  7. तातेको सेल रोटी (Spicy Sel Roti) is ready to be served hot with a cup of tea or as a snack during festive occasions.
