麻辣担担面 (Spicy Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles) is a classic Chinese Islamic Cuisine dish known for its bold flavors and spicy kick. This noodle dish is a popular street food in Sichuan province and is loved for its numbing and spicy taste.
Ingredients
- 8 oz (225g) fresh Chinese wheat noodles
- 1/4 cup (60ml) sesame paste
- 3 tbsp (45ml) soy sauce
- 2 tbsp (30ml) Chinkiang vinegar
- 2 tbsp (30ml) chili oil
- 1 tbsp (15ml) Sichuan peppercorn oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (60g) ground halal beef or lamb
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup (60g) roasted peanuts, chopped
Instructions
- Boil the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sesame paste, soy sauce, Chinkiang vinegar, and chili oil to make the sauce.
- Heat the Sichuan peppercorn oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ground halal beef or lamb. Cook until the meat is browned.
- Divide the cooked noodles into serving bowls. Pour the sauce over the noodles and top with the cooked meat mixture.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and chopped peanuts. Serve hot and enjoy!
