Spicy Szechuan Paneer
Spicy Szechuan Paneer is a popular Indo-Chinese dish that combines the bold flavors of Szechuan cuisine with the creamy texture of paneer, resulting in a delicious and spicy dish.
Ingredients
- 250g paneer, cubed
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 3-4 dried red chilies
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp red chili sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp Szechuan peppercorns
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a bowl, coat the paneer cubes with cornflour and shallow fry until golden brown. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté dried red chilies, minced garlic, and chopped ginger until fragrant.
- Add sliced onions and bell peppers, and stir-fry until they are slightly tender.
- Next, add soy sauce, vinegar, red chili sauce, tomato ketchup, Szechuan peppercorns, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the fried paneer cubes to the pan and toss until the paneer is coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
