Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground Szechuan peppercorns
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons Szechuan peppercorn powder
- 2 tablespoons chili oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Chinese black vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, ground Szechuan peppercorns, and chopped green onions.
- Place a small amount of the pork mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, then fold the wonton in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal.
- In a large pot of boiling water, cook the wontons for 4-5 minutes, or until they float to the surface. Remove and drain.
- In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the Szechuan peppercorn powder and cook for 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the chili oil, soy sauce, Chinese black vinegar, and sugar to make the sauce.
- To serve, place the cooked wontons on a serving plate, drizzle with the spicy red oil sauce, and garnish with chopped green onions.
