Spicy Woh (तातेको वोह)
तातेको वोह (Spicy Woh) is a traditional Newari dish known for its spicy and flavorful taste. It is a popular street food in Nepal and is often enjoyed during festivals and special occasions.
Ingredients
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1/2 cup mustard oil
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Heat mustard oil in a pan and add chopped onions. Sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until they turn golden brown.
- Add tomato puree, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, green chilies, and salt. Mix well and cook for 10-15 minutes.
- Add water as needed to adjust the consistency of the gravy.
- Serve hot with rice or traditional Newari bread.
