Spinach And Cottage Cheese Curry (bhojpuri Palak Paneer)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups spinach, washed and chopped
  • 200g cottage cheese (paneer), cubed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and green chilies. Saute until onions are golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute. Then, add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
  3. Stir in turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for a few minutes.
  4. Add the chopped spinach and cook until it wilts.
  5. Gently add the cubed cottage cheese and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and garam masala. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
