Spinach and Feta Pie (Plăcintă cu Spanac și Brânză Feta)

Ingredients

  • 500g fresh spinach, chopped
  • 200g Feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 500g phyllo dough
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the chopped spinach, crumbled Feta cheese, chopped onion, beaten eggs, chopped dill, and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Layer 5 sheets of phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  4. Spread the spinach and Feta mixture over the phyllo dough.
  5. Layer another 5 sheets of phyllo dough on top of the spinach mixture, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  6. Score the top of the pie into squares or diamonds with a sharp knife.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the phyllo dough is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
