Spinach and Feta Pie (Plăcintă cu Spanac și Brânză Feta)
Plăcintă cu Spanac și Brânză Feta is a traditional Romanian dish that combines the earthy flavors of spinach with the tangy richness of Feta cheese. This savory pie is perfect for a hearty breakfast, a satisfying lunch, or a flavorful dinner.
Ingredients
- 500g fresh spinach, chopped
- 200g Feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 500g phyllo dough
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, mix together the chopped spinach, crumbled Feta cheese, chopped onion, beaten eggs, chopped dill, and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Layer 5 sheets of phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Spread the spinach and Feta mixture over the phyllo dough.
- Layer another 5 sheets of phyllo dough on top of the spinach mixture, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Score the top of the pie into squares or diamonds with a sharp knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the phyllo dough is golden brown and crispy.
- Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
