Spinach Chicken (palak Chicken)
Spinach Chicken, also known as Palak Chicken, is a popular North Indian dish that combines tender chicken with a flavorful spinach gravy. This dish is packed with nutrients and is a great way to incorporate leafy greens into your diet.
Ingredients
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates.
- Add turmeric, red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook for a few minutes, then add the spinach leaves. Cook until the spinach wilts.
- Let the mixture cool, then blend it into a smooth paste.
- Heat the same pan, add the spinach paste, and cook for a few minutes. Then, add the chicken cubes and cook until they are tender.
- Finally, add the yogurt and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Adjust the seasoning and serve hot.
