Spinach Chicken (palak Chicken)

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates.
  3. Add turmeric, red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook for a few minutes, then add the spinach leaves. Cook until the spinach wilts.
  4. Let the mixture cool, then blend it into a smooth paste.
  5. Heat the same pan, add the spinach paste, and cook for a few minutes. Then, add the chicken cubes and cook until they are tender.
  6. Finally, add the yogurt and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Adjust the seasoning and serve hot.
