Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup suet
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup currants or raisins
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, suet, sugar, currants or raisins, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the milk and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a greased pudding basin or bowl.
- Cover with a double layer of greased parchment paper and foil, securing with kitchen twine.
- Place the pudding basin in a large pot and fill with enough boiling water to reach halfway up the sides of the basin.
- Cover the pot and steam the pudding for 1 hour, adding more boiling water as needed.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the pudding basin from the pot and let it cool slightly before unmolding.
- Serve the spotted dick with custard and enjoy!
