Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the diced tomatoes, paprika, oregano, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Top with the meat mixture. Add the remaining potatoes on top.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and Parmesan cheese. Pour this mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.
  7. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
