Ingredients
- Shortcrust pastry
- 6 whole mackerel, cleaned and filleted
- 6 hard-boiled eggs

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out two-thirds of the pastry and line a pie dish.
- Arrange the mackerel fillets and hard-boiled eggs in the pie dish.
- Sauté the chopped onion in butter until soft, then sprinkle with flour and gradually stir in milk to make a thick sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the fish and eggs.
- Roll out the remaining pastry to make a lid for the pie, then place it over the filling. Trim and crimp the edges to seal.
- Make a few slits in the pastry to allow steam to escape.
- Bake for 1 hour or until the pastry is golden and the fish is cooked through.
