Ingredients

  • 4 beef steaks
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
  5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, red wine, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them.
  7. Cover and simmer for 45-50 minutes, or until the steaks are tender.
