Steak Sandwich (prego No Pão)
This Steak Sandwich, known as Prego no Pão in Portuguese cuisine, is a delicious and satisfying meal that is perfect for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 beef steaks
- 4 Portuguese rolls
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 slices of cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Season the beef steaks with minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes.
- In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil and sauté the sliced onions until caramelized.
