Steamed Chitol Fish (bhapa Chitol)

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chitol fish, cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 1 cup mustard paste
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 2 green chilies, slit lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon mustard oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish pieces with mustard paste, turmeric powder, and salt. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix yogurt, mustard oil, sugar, and green chilies in a bowl.
  3. Place the marinated fish in a steaming dish and pour the yogurt mixture over it.
  4. Cover the dish and steam the fish for 30 minutes on medium heat.
  5. Once cooked, remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice.
