Ingredients
- 4 Hilsa fish fillets
- 1/2 cup mustard paste
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons mustard oil
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 cup hot water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the mustard paste, yogurt, mustard oil, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and sugar to make the marinade.
- Marinate the Hilsa fish fillets with the prepared marinade and let them sit for 15 minutes.
- Place the marinated fish fillets in a steaming dish and top them with slit green chilies.
- Pour hot water over the fish and cover the dish with a lid.
- Steam the fish on medium heat for 20-25 minutes or until the fish is cooked through.
- Once done, remove the dish from the steamer and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
