Ingredients

  • 1 whole pomfret, cleaned and scaled
  • 3 salted plums, pitted and chopped
  • 3 slices ginger
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the pomfret on a heatproof dish and make 3 diagonal cuts on each side of the fish.
  2. Spread the chopped salted plums, ginger, and green onions on top of the fish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper. Pour this mixture over the fish.
  4. Steam the fish over high heat for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. Once cooked, carefully remove the dish from the steamer and garnish with additional green onions.
