Steamed Pork Ribs with Rice Flour (Zhēng Miàn Páigǔ)

Ingredients

  • 500g pork ribs
  • 100g rice flour
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together rice flour, soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, five-spice powder, garlic, ginger, and green onions to create a marinade.
  2. Add the pork ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Place the marinated pork ribs in a heatproof dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour water into the steamer and bring it to a boil. Place the dish with the pork ribs into the steamer and steam for 1 hour.
  5. Once the pork ribs are tender and cooked through, remove from the steamer and serve hot.
