Steamed Rice Cake (bhapa Pitha)
Steamed Rice Cake, also known as Bhapa Pitha, is a traditional delicacy from Sylheti Cuisine. This soft and spongy cake is made with rice flour, jaggery, and coconut, and is steamed to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 cup jaggery, grated
- 1 cup coconut, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, grated jaggery, grated coconut, and salt.
- Add water gradually and mix to form a smooth batter.
- Pour the batter into greased cake molds or small bowls.
- Place the molds in a steamer and steam for 30 minutes.
- Once done, remove the steamed rice cakes from the molds and let them cool before serving.
