Steamed Rice Cakes With Meat (erachi Puttu)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 250g minced meat (chicken, beef, or lamb)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated coconut for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the rice flour with a little salt and water to make a crumbly mixture.
  2. Layer the minced meat, onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt in a steamer.
  3. Place the rice flour mixture on top of the meat mixture in the steamer.
  4. Steam for 20-25 minutes until the rice cake is cooked through.
  5. Once done, remove from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes.
  6. Unmold the steamed rice cake onto a plate and garnish with grated coconut.
