糯米鸡 (Steamed Sticky Rice with Chicken) is a traditional dish from Jiangxi Cuisine that features tender chicken and glutinous rice steamed to perfection, creating a flavorful and comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 500g boneless chicken thighs, cut into small pieces
- 2 cups glutinous rice, soaked for 4 hours
- 3 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, white pepper, and Shaoxing wine for 20 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan, sauté ginger and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook until it changes color. Remove from heat and mix in the chopped green onions.
- Rinse the soaked glutinous rice and drain well. Mix in sesame oil.
- Grease a deep plate or a shallow bowl, then spread a layer of glutinous rice at the bottom.
- Place the cooked chicken on top of the rice, then cover with the remaining rice.
- Steam over high heat for 40-45 minutes until the rice is cooked through.
- Serve the steamed sticky rice with chicken hot and enjoy!
