Steamed Stuffed Mushrooms (Zhēng Bǎo Mógu)

Ingredients

  • 12 large button mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup ground pork
  • 1/4 cup diced water chestnuts
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the steamer over high heat.
  2. Remove the stems from the mushrooms and set aside. Clean the mushroom caps and pat them dry.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ground pork, diced water chestnuts, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff each mushroom cap with the pork mixture, mounding it slightly.
  5. Place the stuffed mushrooms in the steamer, cover, and steam for 12-15 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the pork is cooked through.
  6. Serve the steamed stuffed mushrooms hot and enjoy!
