Zhēng Bǎo Mógu, or Steamed Stuffed Mushrooms, is a traditional Tianjin Cuisine dish that features savory and flavorful stuffed mushrooms. This dish is perfect as an appetizer or a side dish, and it's a great way to enjoy the natural umami flavor of mushrooms.
Ingredients
- 12 large button mushrooms
- 1/2 cup ground pork
- 1/4 cup diced water chestnuts
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the steamer over high heat.
- Remove the stems from the mushrooms and set aside. Clean the mushroom caps and pat them dry.
- In a bowl, mix the ground pork, diced water chestnuts, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each mushroom cap with the pork mixture, mounding it slightly.
- Place the stuffed mushrooms in the steamer, cover, and steam for 12-15 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the pork is cooked through.
- Serve the steamed stuffed mushrooms hot and enjoy!
