蒸豆腐 (Steamed Stuffed Tofu) is a classic dish in Liaoning Cuisine, featuring tender tofu stuffed with a flavorful filling and steamed to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 block firm tofu
- 100g ground pork
- 2-3 shiitake mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Prepare the tofu by cutting it into thick slices and carefully scooping out a small pocket in the center of each slice.
- In a bowl, mix together the ground pork, shiitake mushrooms, green onion, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and sugar.
- Stuff the tofu pockets with the filling mixture.
- Place the stuffed tofu slices in a steaming dish and pour the chicken broth over them.
- Cover the dish and steam over medium heat for 20-25 minutes, or until the tofu is tender and the filling is cooked through.
