Stew Broth (Karta Shorpo) is a traditional Kazakh dish that is hearty, flavorful, and perfect for warming up on a cold day.
Ingredients
- 1 kg beef, cut into chunks
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 8 cups water
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the beef, onions, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
- Add the potatoes, carrots, and bell pepper to the pot. Simmer for an additional 30-40 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.
