Stewed Goat With Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs goat meat, cut into chunks
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Season the goat meat with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the goat meat and brown on all sides.
  3. Add the onion, garlic, tomatoes, and thyme to the pot. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 1.5 hours, or until the goat meat is tender.
  5. In a bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead to form a dough.
  6. Pinch off pieces of the dough and roll into small balls to make the dumplings.
  7. Add the dumplings to the pot with the stewed goat. Cover and cook for an additional 20 minutes until the dumplings are cooked through.
  8. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Serve the stewed goat with dumplings hot.
