Ingredients
- 2 cups sticky rice
- 4 Chinese sausages, sliced
- 1 cup dried shiitake mushrooms, rehydrated and sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Rinse the sticky rice until the water runs clear, then soak in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pan or wok, sauté the Chinese sausage over medium heat until it releases its oils. Add the garlic and onion, and cook until fragrant.
- Add the soaked sticky rice and sliced mushrooms to the pan. Stir to combine with the sausage, garlic, and onion.
- Pour in the chicken broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Stir well and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
- Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions.
