Ingredients

  • 2 cups sticky rice
  • 4 Chinese sausages, sliced
  • 1 cup dried shiitake mushrooms, rehydrated and sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sticky rice until the water runs clear, then soak in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan or wok, sauté the Chinese sausage over medium heat until it releases its oils. Add the garlic and onion, and cook until fragrant.
  3. Add the soaked sticky rice and sliced mushrooms to the pan. Stir to combine with the sausage, garlic, and onion.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
  6. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions.
