Stinky Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu
  • 2 cups of brine (water, salt, and fermented milk)
  • 1 tablespoon of Chinese five-spice powder

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into small cubes.
  2. Place the tofu cubes in a container and cover them with the brine.
  3. Stir in the Chinese five-spice powder, making sure the tofu is fully coated.
  4. Cover the container and let it ferment at room temperature for 24 hours.
  5. After 24 hours, the stinky tofu is ready to be pan-fried or deep-fried until crispy on the outside.
