Strawberry Cake (torta De Frutillas)

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- Whipped cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour and baking powder; stir into the batter alternately with the milk.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the batter.

- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
