Stuffed Bell Peppers (Biber Dolması)
Biber Dolması, or Stuffed Bell Peppers, is a traditional dish in Gagauz cuisine, known for its flavorful filling and vibrant presentation.
Ingredients
- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 cup rice
- 250g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the rice, ground beef, onion, tomatoes, parsley, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- Stuff the bell peppers with the rice and meat mixture.
- Place the stuffed peppers in a deep pot and pour the broth over them.
- Cover the pot and cook the peppers on low heat for 1 hour, or until the rice is fully cooked and the peppers are tender.
- Serve the Biber Dolması hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
