Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized bitter gourds (karela)
- 1 cup crumbled paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
Instructions
- Wash the bitter gourds and scrape the rough skin. Slit them lengthwise and remove the seeds.
- Mix crumbled paneer, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt in a bowl to make the stuffing.
- Stuff the bitter gourds with the prepared mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan and place the stuffed bitter gourds in it. Cook on low heat, turning occasionally, until the gourds are tender and the stuffing is cooked through.
- Serve hot with roti or rice.
