Ingredients
- 1 head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of water and carefully remove the cabbage leaves, then blanch them for a few minutes to soften. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, rice, onion, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll them up, tucking in the sides.
- Place the cabbage rolls in a large pot, pour the tomato sauce and beef broth over them, and simmer for 1 hour.
