Ingredients

  • 4 large green chilies
  • 2 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Make a lengthwise slit in each green chili and remove the seeds.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
  3. Stuff the green chilies with the potato mixture.
  4. In another bowl, prepare the batter by mixing gram flour, baking soda, and salt with water to make a smooth, thick batter.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  6. Dip the stuffed chilies in the batter, ensuring they are well coated, and carefully place them in the hot oil.
  7. Fry until the fritters are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
