Stuffed Choyla (भर्का चोयला)
भर्का चोयला (Stuffed Choyla) is a traditional Newari dish that is popular in Nepal. It is made with marinated meat that is grilled to perfection, giving it a smoky and spicy flavor.
Ingredients
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 4-5 green chilies, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the mustard oil, yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to make the marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- After marination, stuff the marinated chicken cubes with green chilies and onions.
- Heat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium heat. Grill the stuffed chicken cubes until they are cooked through and have a nice char on the outside.
- Once grilled, transfer the chicken to a serving plate, sprinkle lemon juice, and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
